Always a special night at Lake Hopatcong!

Rain date is scheduled for Saturday, June 28.

The Boating Regulations Commission will conduct their July 2023 meeting at Lake Hopatcong.

A look at how the Morris Canal created and influenced the development of Lake Hopatcong.  One hundred years after its abandonment it continues to shape out lake.

A delightful buffet dinner by Debi will be served prior to the program.

Could the days of the Lighthouse and Governor’s Inn really have been 50 years ago? Take a trip back to a Lake Hopatcong which still featured a hotel and amusement park, bands and disco music at the lake’s hot spots, and what now seems like a very innocent time.

Lake Hopatcong was once envisioned as a four season resort. The Lake Hopatcong Winter Carnival of January 1926 featured competitions in speed skating, skate sailing, ice boating, and hockey and the New York Times reported it drew some 15,000 people to the lake. Lake Hopatcong was the long-time home for the Skate Sailing Association of America, a popular hockey league in River Styx, and one of the main ice boating venues in the northeast. Join us as we revisit winters past.
