For some 25 years of the 19th century, Lotta Crabtree was the most celebrated actress in America, widely referred to in news accounts of the day as “the Nation’s Darling.” The first true celebrity to summer at Lake Hopatcong, Lotta helped establish the lake’s reputation as a major resort. Exactly 100 years to the day after her passing, we will celebrate the life of the amazing Lotta.
