In an age before jets, air conditioning and super highways, Lake Hopatcong was a major northeast resort.  Within easy reach of large cities to the east, the lake’s size and setting at over 900 feet above sea level made it a perfect summer destination.  At it’s peak, Lake Hopatcong was home to over 40 hotels, two amusement parks, and all types of entertainment, welcoming thousands each year, including leaders in government, industry and entertainment. This program will feature images of this period and take a look at Lake Hopatcong’s hotel era and the legacy we can still see today.
